Why I love doing what I do…
Stories
Seeing as I love reading, this may not come as a surprise. It’s the story that motivates me as a photographer. How you met the love of your life, what’s your relationship to self (and how is it changing), where did you grow up, or what’s your favourite flower? Your story is what inspires our sessions, and often leaves a mark on me forever.
Love
Ah, yes, my most favourite thing on this planet.
Nothing is better than love in my humble opinion. It’s one of those things that is hard to explain at times, but that’s why I love photography - you don’t have to explain it.
The amount of love that can go unnoticed in our day to day lives is tragic - being present is the only way to experience it. My motivation with my photography is to be able to slow down time and help you connect with the present moment. To freeze love in a frame and let you hold on to it for many moments after.
Time
I’ve been told I get lost reminiscing too much. Maybe that’s because photography is what I do for a living? But I’m perfectly okay with living alongside nostalgia. At the end of the day, what do you have but the memories you’ve created
Me
Growing up I was drawn to the creative world like a moth to a flame. I adored the arts in all of her forms and constantly romanticized my life.
To this day, I love listening to score music and curating playlists (ask me to curate a playlist for you and I will die of excitement), reading fictional books before bed, writing letters to loved ones, and picking flowers just to cry when they shrivel up and die. When I’m not doing any of the above I spend time seeing how people move through the world and connect, how our lives intertwine in the smallest and largest of ways - it feeds my soul.
I would consider myself someone who feels things too deeply. A mush ball. A lover of moments. And over time, I have found myself collecting these moments through my Documentary Style-Photography.
I hope to be your photographer of authentic moments and I find the in-between messy, yet, beautiful moments are what inspire me most.
